New Year – New Asthma Plan
Categories: asthma education
A new year has begun and so has the list of New Year’s Resolutions! Many of us set the list with the easily achievable resolutions at the top. For some, their New Year’s Resolutions are always a bit out of reach. But if you have asthma, getting your asthma under control should be at the top of the easily achievable list.
Sound too good to be true? It’s really not.
The way to simplify asthma control is to have a plan. Here’s how:
- Schedule an appointment with your physician to discuss making an Asthma Plan just for you.
- Create the asthma plan with your doctor. You already know your asthma is personal, so why should you not have an Asthma Plan that is personally yours? It will set your strategy for when you’re well, when you’re not feeling your best and when you are sick.
- Use the plan. You now have the flexibility to be proactive about your asthma – not reactive – which means you are well on your way to getting your asthma under control.
Bonus tip: Already have a plan? Then make a resolution to take your controller medication daily. You can set up your medications reminders in Asthmapolis, put a note on your bathroom mirror or place the controller medication next to your cereal/breakfast/coffee cup.
You’ve no doubt heard the saying every success started with a great plan – asthma control is no different. So start your New Year with a Plan – your Asthma Control Plan.
Happy New Year from your friends in Asthmapolis!
